Why Pig Farming UK started:
It started with problems we couldn’t find answers to.
When we first started keeping pigs, google searches came up empty handed to our specific problems. We quickly discovered there wasn’t a place to turn for advice that actually applied to us. Forums were outdated and a lot of ‘expert’ advice online simply didn’t reflect the reality of keeping pigs on a smallholding. We needed real advice from real people.
So we started a Facebook group. Just a small space, at first, for people asking the same kind of questions we had.
It grew- quickly, and far beyond what we expected. Today UK Pig Farming is home to almost 30,00 pig keepers, small holders and aspiring farmers from across the United Kingdom, all sharing advice and buying and selling their pigs and equipment.
This website is an extension of the same idea: a place to bring together the best of what our community knows, make it even easier to find, and help even more people get started or get better at keeping pigs in the right way.
